I hadn’t thought about it much as I stopped watching the news a long time ago. But it was mentioned in a group the other day that the news typically points out only the negative. I knew this, that’s part of why I stopped watching the news. If only people knew how much fear and negative energy this was putting into their lives and their vibration.
There was a time, not that long ago, when we didn’t need to talk about a concept like “random acts of kindness” … because people just did them. But our media focus on the negative has left us in a perpetual feeling of gloom, doom, and fear. How great it would be if the media provided a 50/50 mix of good and bad? Can you imagine the difference this would make in the world? Our focus would no longer be on the negative/bad stuff going on, but would be a balance of positive and negative. There would at least be some emphasis on the good that happens in the world … those things that no one is really talking about. What a difference this would make.
When we change our focus, we change the way the world looks and reacts. So, I guess this is a challenge of sorts … watch good stuff to counter or balance out the negative from the news. Watch TED talks, Wayne Dyer, or other inspirational, uplifting videos. Get a positive message and focus on that. We have so much crud going on, especially here in the US. It’s time we focused on unity and love instead of division and hate.
And if you’re not sure that just changing your focus and your thoughts is enough, check out this video. It’s about 90 minutes, but I think you’ll find it well worth your time.
