Double D

I wasn’t quite sure what to call this part of me but came up with Dragonfly Designs (Double D, DD).  It represents a couple of my hobbies:  website design and custom embroidery.  I’ll leave it to your imagination as to whether it stands for anything else 🙂

Websites

Anyway, I believe in affordable website design.  Gone are the days when websites are coded one line at a time (for the most part).  Most folks are using templates/themes and my hat’s off to those who design them!  It also means most folks can change the content on their site without hiring someone which makes keeping a site affordable as well.  Don’t let this idea scare you.  If you can create a Facebook post and upload a photo or send someone an email, you can probably handle changes to your website without much trouble.

I love playing with websites and you can only design so many for yourself!  So I build them for other folks.  We can customize it with a background and colors you like, your logo can be added, and I’ll create a few pages to get you set up (you provide the content).  If you need a domain and hosting, I can help you set that up.  Not sure what that is?  I’ll explain … and, no, it’s not expensive and it can even be FREE in some instances.

This page has links to a few of my websites here.

Oh … the price … typically less than $300 for a basic site (design, plus 3 pages) and it’s a one time cost unless you want me to do future modifications.  We can talk about extra pages if you need them or an online storefront if you want to sell things.

If you’re ready to go, great!  If you have questions, that’s cool too … just let me know.

I’m willing to consider trades and open to a wide variety of possibilities.  I am very eclectic and you just never know what you might have that would make a great trade agreement!  It never hurts to ask J

Embroidery

When my mom died in 2003, I inherited her embroidery machine.  I’d been sewing pretty much all my life, but had NO clue about embroidery.  I stopped by the local embroidery shop one day to ask questions.  They needed someone part-time and I wasn’t working, so I took them up on their offer.  I got paid to take lessons … how cool is that?  They only needed me about 6 months, but I learned a great deal and even upgraded my machine.

A few more machine upgrades and here I am today.  As with websites, there’s only so much you can do for yourself and your family.  And there are soooooo many designs that are totally awesome (my granddaughter’s words).  Take a look at some of the things I’ve done and maybe one of them will spark an idea for something you’d like me to do for you.   Fabric color is up to you.  I have over 15,000 designs and add more all the time, so I can cover most any topic/subject.  If you want something I don’t have, I’ll see what I can do.
