Office Policies

Office Hours
Office hours are by appointment only.  I do not accept walk-ins but you are welcome to call to see if there is an available appointment due to a last-minute cancellation.  I am located approximately 5 minutes west of the I-75/Hwy 484 interchange (10 miles south of Ocala).

Confidentiality
As with any health care provider, your session with me will remain confidential. Your file is available only to you and those you designate by an authorized release form signed by you.  Westwind Massage & Wellness does not accept insurance, but we do respect HIPPA guidelines.

Payments
I accept cash and credit/debit card (through PayPal swipe).  Although it is not a requirement, you may pay for your session in advance at the Mystic Dragonfly online store.

Gift Certificates
If you would like to gift another person with a massage session, you have several options.  You can purchase through  I can mail the certificate to you or directly to them.  Please contact me to schedule a pick up time so I have it ready for you when you arrive.

Disclaimers
I am not a medical doctor, nurse, physical therapist, our counselor.  Please understand it is not within my scope of practice to diagnose.  Please see your doctor first if you feel you have a condition which may require medical attention.  Depending on your doctor’s diagnosis, massage therapy may not be appropriate at this time.  A diagnosis may also help determine the best course of action for your session.  The more information you share with me, the more specific I can be in adapting your massage session to meet your needs and desires.  If you would like me to speak with your health care provider, I will be happy to provide you with a release form and communicate directly with your health care provider, as long as they are receptive to contact from a Licensed Massage Therapist.

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you will not receive the full benefit of a massage or other treatment.  Treatments may actually be harmful to you if you are affected by alcohol or drugs.  Some prescriptions and over the counter drugs can also interfere with massage. Please let me know what you have in your system before we start.

It is not my intention to turn anyone away, but the appropriate use of any therapy, including massage, means sometimes it’s better to wait. If you think there may be an issue, please discuss it with me before arriving for your appointment.  It is your responsibility to arrive in a state of mind and body conducive to receiving therapeutic massage.  I will not be held responsible if you have an adverse reaction to massage while under the influence if you fail to disclose drug and/or alcohol use, or if you fail to disclose a condition which contraindicates massage or other therapies/treatments.

Massage is a touch therapy, legally defined as “the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body.”  This does NOT mean sexual.  Inappropriate behavior will be cause for immediate termination of the session with no refund and may result in legal action. While this is stating the obvious, some people are still confused or mistaken about massage.

Cancellations
I certainly understand that “life happens.”  Please be aware I have committed a time slot to you.  When you cancel/re-schedule on short notice or simply “no-show”, it is a time slot that cannot be used by anyone else.  If you must cancel or change your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible (24 hours is preferred).

If you have a severe cold, fever, the flu, or anything potentially contagious … you should not have a massage.  If you are ill, please call as soon as possible to cancel your appointment.  I will be happy to reschedule your appointment when you are well again.
